Grace is a Meditation Teacher,
Stress Management Consultant and Trainer, and an experienced
facilitator and public speaker, specialising in delivering
Personal Development Programmes. She has addressed conferences
and presented workshops in Europe, Canada, USA, Zimbabwe,
and throughout the U.K, and has been a regular presenter at
the Holistic Learning: Breaking New Ground: International
Conference, Toronto University, where herpresentations have
included Nourishing the Soul in Education and Values and Visions.
She began her personal path in meditation as a young teenager,
whilst also becoming a student of Theosophy, the Vedanta,
Feng Shui and the healing arts. By the time she was eighteen
she was giving public talks on spirituality and meditation.
Although she does not adhere to a particular faith belief
or meditation teaching, she is guided by her connection to
her own spiritual life and communicates in the simple language
of the heart. Her courses for adults in the arena of metaphysics
show the very practical
application of nurturing the inner life for self-healing,
balance and empowerment.
Diana has made a valuable contribution to our growing awareness
of the importance of meditation and nurturing the soul in
education. She has been pioneering and facilitating meditative
practice for children and educators since 1978, both in mainstream
schools in the U.K. and as far afield as rural Zimbabwe. Her
school programmes Times for Reflection support learning
and behaviour through nurturing emotional and spiritual literacy
and human values, resulting in calmer classrooms and enhanced
creativity, as David Powell, former Advisory Head Teacher
in Wiltshire, noted: I have witnessed Times for Reflection
workshops first hand. The effects on children are calming,
focussing and result in improved behaviour and creative work.
The Times for Reflection programmes include Stress Management
for teachers, pupils, parents and college students and have
been well received, helping to contribute to a whole school
ethos and the well-being of individuals and school communities.
Healthy living requires attention to the inner health of
ourselves, our children and our colleagues. The programme
which is run by Diana shows us the significance of this and
touches the deepest parts of our lives, helping us to grow
in ourselves and in our relationships. Bart McGettrick,
Professor of Education, University of Glasgow.
Dianas experience also includes designing and facilitating
the Nourishing the Soul teachers retreats, in the U.K. She
is contributor to the book Meditation in Schools published
by Continuum, and was co-focaliser for the International Conference
Soul in Education 2000, Findhorn, Scotland.
