Who we are: Jaq Piercy

Jaq Piercy is a multi-talented musician, artist and educator.
An exceptional teenage pianist, after becoming a Junior Exhibitionist at the Royal College of Music, she went on to take a degree in Music at the Colchester Institute and a PGCE at the Kingston Polytechnic in 1987.

Since then, she has taught in primary schools in London, Lancashire, Wales and Somerset, run an ecumenical retreat centre in Dorset and worked as a community arts facilitator, piano teacher and freelance photographer, having gained a distinction in Photography with City and Guilds.

She organises and contributes to children’s summer camps, residential arts events and music workshops for people with disabilities. Her experience includes working with a wide range of faith communities, using music, pottery, environmental art, poetry, dance and drama to create life-affirming experiences communicating the spirit of creativity.

Jaq Piercy’s interest is in spontaneity and the free expression of feeling from the heart, through improvisation, engagement and interaction.
