Why do we need Space for Transformation ?

Transformation has become a ‘buzz word’ in education.  It means different things to different people, yet there are few school leaders today who would not be glad of transformation, in at least some form.

Transformation requires inspirational leaders, throughout schools.  Impossible to develop through a ‘competencies’ approach, we believe that this kind of leadership is founded upon:

personal power, rather than institutional power

deeply held, well-communicated values

strong, positive relationships, with self and others

clarity of purpose

freedom from stress

Space for Transformation
nurtures, refreshes and supports inspirational leadership
.

Model of Space for Transformation >

What Space for Transformation offers you and your school

Our starting point is to assume you are working to an overcrowded agenda.  Unlike other conferences, Space for Transformation will not give you more to think about, more to remember and more to do.  Rather than add to your agenda, we provide space, clarity, empowerment and support.  We help you to renew your commitment to the values that led you into education.

We then assist you in addressing the challenges of transformation, both personally and professionally, that those values require.  aHead-Space does not supply solutions, or work through a menu, in a ‘how to do it’ approach.  In new-found clarity of mind and purpose, we help you to identify the one or two issues for yourself and your staff that, when tackled creatively, will allow you to unlock the rest.

Here are some of the issues and challenges
that we expect to address together:

achieving clarity of purpose
improving work-life balance
articulating aims and vision
enabling colleagues to internalise goals
cherishing self and all individuals
managing key team relationships
handling ‘difficult conversations’
dealing with confrontation and its aftermath
removing obstacles to learning
turning discipline and behaviour around
promoting and evaluating creativity

If any of these challenge or inspire you, Space for Transformation will help you to find a clear way ahead.
